Current research and scientific contributions to singing bowl therapy
Our work at the Singing Bowl Academy is based on sound scientific findings and continuous research. We are actively committed to understanding and further researching the effects of singing bowl therapy on the body and mind. Our methodology is based on the latest scientific studies that confirm the positive effects of singing bowls on well-being.
Scientifically well-documented effects
Stress reduction and relaxation:
Numerous studies have shown that singing bowl therapy is an effective method for reducing stress and promoting deep relaxation. For example, results from Goldsby et al. (2016) show that participants were significantly less stressed and felt more relaxed after a singing bowl session. (Source: Goldsby, TL, et al. (2016). "The Effects of Singing Bowl Sound Meditation on Mood, Tension, and Well-being: An Observational Study." Journal of Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine.)
Improve sleep quality:
Sound therapy improves sleep quality, particularly through its calming effect. A study by Norelli et al. (2020) shows that singing bowl therapy can contribute to better sleep, especially in stressed people. (Source: Norelli, LJ, et al. (2020). "Effects of Singing Bowls on Anxiety, Depression, Stress, and Spiritual Well-being in Healthcare Workers." Healthcare.)
Reduction of anxiety:
A randomized controlled trial by Landry et al. (2020) shows that singing bowl therapy can significantly reduce anxiety. This research supports the use of singing bowls as a complementary therapy for anxiety. (Source: Landry, JM, et al. (2020). "Effects of Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation on Mood, Anxiety, Pain, and Spiritual Well-being." Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine.)
Pain relief:
Research by Singh et al. (2018) suggests that singing bowl therapy may be effective in reducing pain. This method is increasingly used as a complementary therapy for pain management. Mother Earth Sound Therapy Study
Ongoing and Future Research
We are currently working on a large-scale study in Kuala Lumpur, in which 2000 subjects will investigate the effects of singing bowl therapy on various physiological and psychological parameters. This research will deepen our understanding of the versatile effects of sound therapy and further strengthen the scientific basis of our work.
Committed community and long-term support
In addition to our scientific efforts, we offer a strong and supportive community that is continuously committed to the dissemination and development of singing bowl therapy. By acquiring one of our certificates, you become part of our Mother Earth community and at the same time support charitable projects, especially in Malaysia.
